Natural Kitchen Cleaner

The kitchen is one of the most popular rooms of the house however, it can also contain the most germs and bacteria. Many commercial cleaners do a good job but can be harmful to your health if it gets on food or dishes. It’s important to use a kitchen cleaner that is effective at killing germs and bacteria but is also non-toxic.

This all natural kitchen cleaner recipe is safe to use in the kitchen but still has the cleaning power your family needs.

What makes the kitchen cleaner effective is the vinegar’s ability to remove bacteria, germs and mold. Additionally, the tea tree oil gives it an added boost with its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

Natural Kitchen Cleaner

  • 8oz of vinegar
  • 8oz of water
  • Pour into 16 oz spray bottle
  • Add 2-3 drops of tea tree oil
  • Shake the bottle to mix up the ingredients.

DIY Tip: Add orange or lemongrass essential oils to your kitchen cleaner for a fresh citrus scent!

This great all purpose kitchen cleaner will disinfect and remove bacteria from your kitchen.


  • Spray Bottle
  • 8 oz White Vinegar
  • 8 oz Water
  • 2-3 drops of Tea Tree Oil


  1. Combine White Vinegar and Water in the spray bottle.
  2. Add 2-3 drops of Tea Tree Oil
  3. Shake thoroughly to mix ingredients

Natural Microwave Cleaner

If your microwave is like mine it has a tendency to get covered in food particles before you know it.   Cleaning a microwave can be difficult because food particles harden and stick to the inside.

The key to easily removing the food particles is to soften them before wiping down the microwave.  Follow this DIY cleaning recipe which works to soften the food particles while prepare an all natural cleaning mixture for wiping away the mess.

Natural Microwave Cleaner

  • Pour 1 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of water into microwave safe bowl
  • Microwave the mixture on high for 5 minutes.  The vinegar mixture will produce steam which will work to soften the food particles in the microwave.
  • Remove the bowl from the microwave and let it sit for 10 minutes.  Be careful the bowl and remaining mixture can be very hot!
  • Use a sponge or cloth and dip it in the vinegar mixture.
  • Wipe away the remaining food particles.

  • 1 Cup of Vinegar
  • 1 Cup of Water
  • 1 Microwave Safe Bowl


  1. Combine ingredients in a microwave safe bowl
  2. Microwave on high for 5 minutes
  3. Let stand for 15 minutes
  4. Wipe out microwave with a damp cloth.

Clean Coffee Stains from Mugs

If you love coffee or tea then you probably have a mug or two that is stained.  Putting the mug in the dishwasher or scrubbing it by hand will decrease the stain, but may not remove it.

How to Clean Coffee Stains From Mugs

  • Place one tablespoon of baking soda inside the mug
  • Pour two tablespoons of white vinegar inside the mug
  • Use a brush or rag to mix the solution around the entire mug
  • Leave solution in the mug to sit for 10 minutes
  • Scrub the inside of the mug again while rinsing it out with warm water

DIY TIP: For really stubborn stains or stains in porous mugs, let the vinegar and baking soda mixture soak overnight.

  • 1 tablespoon Baking Soda (per cup)
  • 2 tablespoons White Vinegar


  1. Place 1 tablespoon of Baking Soda into cup.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons White Vinegar.

The good news is that sink stains can be removed easily with a scrubbing brush, vinegar and baking soda.

  • Sprinkle a 1/2 cup of baking soda in the sink
  • Use the scrub brush to mix the baking soda around the sink to make a paste
  • Let the baking soda paste sit for 5 minutes
  • Pour vinegar over the baking soda paste
  • Scrub the sink again and rinse it with hot water

  • ½ cup of Baking Soda
  • ½ cup of Vinegar
  • Scrubbing Brush


  1. Sprinkle in your baking soda into a wet sink
  2. Scrub the baking soda around so that it makes a paste, concentrating on the stained area
  3. Let the baking soda sit for 5 minutes
  4. Pour the vinegar on the stained area
  5. Scrub once more and rinse!
